Tactile Literacy and braille
Tactile literacy is a term for all the methods, ways and systems of information gathering and sharing through touch rather than other senses such as sight or hearing.
People with low vision or who are blind or deafblind rely on touch more than others. This helps them access information and develop skills and understanding. Using tactile sign language or the use of braille for reading and writing are some examples. These need a high level of tactile literacy.
Tactile literacy starts with simpler ways of using touch in everyday situations.
